Prayer Life by Pat Woods

Hold up your right hand. What finger is closest to you when you lift up your hand? Your thumb is the finger that is closest to you, so we are going to use the fingers on our hand to remind us of prayer.

First with your thumb since it is closest to you, pray for the people who are closest to you. I do that by praying through the alphabet.
A— Always pray
B— Brothers & Sisters
C— Children
D— Dad & Mum

And so on I continue praying for the people closest to me.

Next comes your pointer finger. It reminds us to pray for those people who give us direction in our lives, your family, and your minister.

Then you have your middle finger. This is the longest of all the fingers, so we pray for the leaders in our world and our community. People who make a difference.

Next comes our ring finger. It is also our weakest finger so we need to pray for those who are in trouble today, those who are sick and going through difficult times.

We have one finger left, our little finger our pinkie. With our pinkie we pray for ourselves. One whole finger dedicated just for you! Pray for yourself, for your needs, for you health, for your family, for things that are important to you for your joy and your laughter and your happiness. So, I encourage you to pray

Summarise:-
Thumb - those closest to us
Pointer - those who give us direction in our lives
Middle -  those who lead us in our community
Ring -     those who are sick and in need
Pinkie -   ourselves
